Soaps are not a good lubricants, which leads to after shave irritations. Remember, the secret of a healthy skin is to hydrate it as much as possible.Truefitt and Hill Shaving Soap
You'll find a whole range of soaps but stay focused on soaps made for shaving. Other will perform well, but they will never produce a thick, rich and smooth lather.
Shaving Cream
A good shaving cream is the best solution for an irritation free BBS shave. Cream may be more expensive, but they usually contain glycerine which produces a rich lather and soften the skin for a close and comfortable shave.
Cream helps the razor to glide at the surface of your skin.
Shaving Gel
Shave gels don't dry your skin like soap, but they hold moisture in the hair, which makes it easier to cut.
They also contain lubricants which allow the razor to glide gently across the skin and when you're done, the razor will rinse clean with ease.
One last thing to consider is the container: Shaving gels usually comes in aerosol packagings.
Once the propellant gas runs out, half the gel is still in the can which is a big waste.
