We will describe the process of taking care of smooth leather shoes
Remove dirts and dust
It is important to remove any dirts and dust.To remove dust, use one of our horsehair brushes and gently rub the leather with a focus on folds and the sole edges.
To remove dirt, use the Dirt Brush and a damp cloth
Clean your shoes
Should your shoes being very dirty, clogged or maintained with other waxes than SAPHIR, use the RENO'MAT to remove stubborn dirt, silicones or resins that prevent the leather to breathe.To regularly clean leathers maintained with SAPHIR products, deeply feed them and prepare waxing by opening its pores, use the Saphir Polish Lotion with a cotton cloth and massage the leather in small circles.
Waxing
Once the leather cleaned, choose the right "Cream 1925" adapted to the color of your shoes.Using the Spreading Brush, take some cream, apply it by starting with the seams of the welt to promote sealing in a back and forth movement without much pressure, emphasize on the wrinkles.
The "Cream 1925", is a nourishing cream, dating from 1925, made with 7 different waxes, solvent (Terebenthine. ..) and shea butter oil to clean, nourish, recolor and waterproof.
Polishing
Let dry a few minutes and buff the leather first with the Polishing Brush, this will guide the glitter of natural waxes for a first gloss.The "Polishing Brush" gently cleans smooth leather. It polishes waxes, keeping them on their natural bristles, without damaging sewings
Shining
Finally, raise the brightness by heating the wax with the help of the chamois (which also allows to remove surpluses of cream).
